Midwives describe a specific health profession where workers focus on helping those who are pregnant and going into labor, and after the baby is born. Usually the women that do choose midwives want a small amount of medical intervention so that way there are no issues during their pregnancy. There are 4 levels of training that midwives can go through. This includes: Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs), Certified Midwives, Certified Professional Midwives, and Lay Midwives. In contrast, doctors receive a different type of education and deal with various kinds of patients. Similar to Midwives they make sure both the baby and the mother come out healthy after the pregnancy. The type of training doctors go through is getting their Doctoral/ Professional degree through passing the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) and later graduating Medical school. In the hospital, doctors usually focus on health checkups, running tests, writing notes down about a patient's conditions, prescribing medicine, and other work.
